Graveside services for John Max Davey, 79 of Plainview will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 in Parklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Dr. Gene Perry officiating. Services are under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:30 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

John passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012 in Plainview. He was born on June 9, 1933 in Parker, Kansas to Glenn Davey and Opal McCarty. He married Shirley Sands on September 25, 1955 in Osawatomie, Kansas. He was a custom harvester for 55 years, an Army veteran and deacon at Seth Ward Baptist Church in Seth Ward.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Plainview; two sons, Mark Davey and wife Julie of Amarillo, Bryan Davey and wife Staci of Alva, OK;
one daughter, Gayleen Garrett and husband Joe of Plainview; three sisters, Barbara Jackson and husband Jim of Plainview, Evonna McIntosh of Wichita, KS, Joyce Burns of Gladstone, MO; five grandchildren, Lynton Garrett, Layton Garrett, Whitney Judd, Tim Davey, Nick Davey; three great-grandchildren, B.J. Davey, Opal Davey, Jaxen Judd.
