Funeral services for Joe Huckabee, 73 of Plainview will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Harvest Christian Fellowship with Pastor Brad Snellgrove officiating and Pastor Paul Cypert assisting. Interment will follow in Kress Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Huckabee was born on June 12, 1940 in Vernon, Texas to Roy and LaVeda McMillian Huckabee. He farmed for many years before becoming owner of a restaurant chain. Later in life he became a respiratory therapist. He was a Deacon at West Main Baptist Church in Artesia, N.M. He is survived by 2 sons, Joe Bradley Huckabee and wife Brenda of Plainview and Kevin Douglas Huckabee and wife Tammy of El Paso; 1 Daughter, Tamberlyn Perkins and husband Bob of Artesia, N.M.; His mother, LaVeda Alston of Lubbock; 1 brother, Tobey Max Huckabee and wife Rose of Morrow, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
