Obituary

Joe H. Garza, 73 passed away on September 25, 2023, at Baylor Scott and White in Grapevine, TX.  Rosary services will be held Friday, September 29, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel. Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, at Bartley Memorial Chapel, Plainview, Texas with Rev. George Poonely officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Bartley Funeral Home, Plainview, Texas.

Born on July 30, 1950, in Premont, TX He was the son of Gilbert and Esperanza Garza. He married the love of his life, Lucia on March 23, 1973, in Petersburg, TX.  He was employed at Petersburg CO-OP Grain for 23 years and was part of Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years.  He enjoyed hunting, Loteria, UNO, Dominos, and spending time with his family.  He will be remembered for his loving heart, carefree spirit, being a great husband, Father, Father-in-law, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa and his once in a lifetime personality.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lucia Garza, His oldest Ubense Garza and wife Ermelinda Garza, his second son, Joel Garza, his daughter, Barbara Garza and Fiancé, Adrian Gill, and his youngest daughter, Mary Ann Garza, all of Petersburg, TX.  He had 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  He has 4 brothers, Saul Garza of Petersburg, Leandro Garza of Lubbock, Lorenzo Garza and wife Rosa, of Idalou and Gabriel Garza and wife Shelly of Corpus Christi.

He was proceeded in death by His parents, Gilbert and Esperanza Garza and his brother, Roel (Roy) Garza.
