JoAnn Wade, of Killeen, TX, formerly Plainview, closed her eyes on earth and opened them in heaven on August 12, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Hale Center.
JoAnn was born on May 9, 1939 to Eddie and Atlee (Forte) Smith in Foreman, Arkansas. She worked for Plainview's MHMR for 31 years. JoAnn enjoyed cooking, playing dominos and dancing. She was a very friendly person who always saw the good in everyone. She loved her family dearly especially her grandbabies who lovingly called her "Nana". JoAnn had a beautiful smile that could light up the room. Her smile and her loving heart will be missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Thelma Wade of Plainview, Sandra Willis of Denton, Sharon Wade of Killeen, and Lanesa Wade of Denton, Brothers; Henry Smith of Waco, Benny Smith of Killeen, Charles Smith and wife, Sandra, of Hillsborough, TX, and Billy Smith of California, sisters; Ella Hager of Little Elm, TX, Edna Davis and husband, J.D., of Abilene, and Mary Jones and husband, Harry, of Wichita Falls, TX. JoAnn was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents Eddie Smith Sr. and Atlee (Forte) Smith, her children; Robert Smith and Dewayne Wade, a brother; Eddie Smith Jr., and a sister; Blonzie Brown.
