Jerry Joseph
Richardson, Jr.
September 30, 1954 – March 27, 2018
Jerry was a joyous spirit who lit up a room with his presence. He was always entertaining everyone with funny voices, jokes, and lively stories. He enjoyed discussing with others the things that he learned in studying the history of our world. As a scuba diver, he broadened his knowledge with exploration of the amazing underwater world of the oceans. His interest in religious artifacts took him on an archeological dig in Israel. He was a past member of the Masons. He was always an optimistic presence and generous with his time, energy, and money as he was always quick to help others. A child of the 60s, he loved The Beatles; so much that he had an entire wall covered with memorabilia of the band. He was the owner of Richardson Sewing Center; sales and repair of Singer sewing machines and Riccar vacuum cleaners. He believed in his product, and watching his demonstrations was always an entertaining delight!
He met his wife, Nikki, online. He was such a lively conversationalist and shared in so many things in which she, too, was interested that it was love at first sight. She could not resist his humor, generosity, enthusiasm, and positive energy. They were married at the First Baptist Church, Plainview, on October 10, 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Nikki D Richardson; his mother, Florence (Richardson) Carlisle, and step-father, Curtis Carlisle, of Plainview; a daughter, Crystal Sapir, and three grandchildren, Noah, Mason, and Madeline Sapir, of Plano, Texas; a sister, Cindy Billington, and her husband, Keith, of Plainview; and three step-brothers, Dennis Carlisle of Independence, Missouri, Keith Carlisle of Sherman, Texas, and Karl Carlisle of Shelbyville, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Joseph Richardson, Sr.
It's hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember!
