Jennifer Perkins passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024, in Plainview, TX. A Visitation will be held Friday, December 13, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Austin Heights Church of Christ, Plainview, TX, with Brother, Carl Smiley officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, Tulia, TX. Arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview.
Jennifer was born on August 19, 1970, in Tulia, TX, to Illinois Perkins and Burnell Smiley Perkins.
Jennifer truly loved her children and grandchildren. She worked as a group homeworker at Central Plains Center and was known for her hardworking nature. Dancing was one of her joys, and she often found herself the center of attention. Her grandchildren were her angels, and she took great delight in caring for others at work and in her personal life.
Traveling was another passion of hers, with her first airplane trip being a memorable experience that her family treasures. Cookouts and time spent with loved ones were sources of immense joy for her, and she was renowned for her amazing cooking skills, especially when it came to her fried chicken.
Jennifer was a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Alabama Crimson Tide. As a breast cancer survivor, she was an inspiring figure and attended Austin Heights Church of Christ in Plainview. Jennifer was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by many.
Jennifer leaves to cherish her memories are her sons, Marquise Perkins and wife Casandra of Plainview, TX, Bryan Perkins and wife Jennifer of Plainview, TX, Cleveland Perkins and wife Kierra of Plainview, TX; her daughter, Alexis Perkins and significant other Glory of Clarendon, TX; her brothers, Carl Smiley of Plainview, TX, and Greg Perkins and wife Mecca of Waco, TX; her step mom, Anna Jo Perkins of Tulia, TX; her grand-children, Jyreeck Perkins, Xeniyah Perkins, Emmalee Perkins, Blaze Perkins, Jenysis Perkins, Jamari Perkins, Kinleigh Wiggins, Karsyn Perkins, Kaine Perkins, Kaidence Perkins, and Jay Perkins; a host of brothers and sisters, nieces, and nephews.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents, Illinois Perkins and Burnell Smiley Perkins; and her brother, Michael Smiley.
