Janis Ann Russell Payne, 80, of Lubbock, our most precious angel mother in life, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 6, 2018. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Quitaque First Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Quitaque, Texas. Arrangements under the personal care of Bartley Funeral Home in Plainview, Texas.

Janis was born on March 7 ^th , 1938 in Turkey, Texas to Jessie Baker Russell and Goldie Lane Russell. She married Joe David Payne on August 4, 1956 in Plainview, Texas. She spent most of her life loving and raising her three children. She also sold Avon for 20 years, but her passion was her family.

She is survived by her three children; Jana Penka and husband Michael of Plainview, Texas, Neil Payne and wife Denee' of Andover, Kansas, Lana Turner of Lubbock, TX. Six grandchildren; Kaci Howerton, Annie Gonzales and husband Frankie, Jared Payne and wife Ashley, Emily Payne, all of Lubbock, Texas.  Evan Payne and wife Brittany of Wolfforth, Tx, and Joanie Reecer of Idledale, Colorado. Five great- grandchildren; Ravien and Qiryn Anderson, Natalie and Jonathan Gonzales, all of Lubbock, Texas, and Brooklyn Payne of Wolfforth, Texas. One brother, Larry Russell of Cleburne, Texas. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She's preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Joe David, daughter Joanie, four sisters and one brother.
