James Earl Riggins, 63, of Amarillo, formally Plainview, departed this earthly life and entered heaven's gates on January 3, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021, at Bartley Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gregory D. Franklin Sr. officiating.

James was born on August 5, 1957 to Thomas and Lexie B. Riggins in Plainview, Texas.

Those left to cherish his memory is his children; Alexis Riggins and Jermaal Dekendrick Riggins,  a sister; Melanie Riggins Wilson Franklin and husband, Rev. Gregory Franklin Sr., and an aunt; Ruthie Mae Greggs.

James was blessed with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Thomas and Lexie B. Riggins, a brother; Thomas Lee Riggins, and his sisters; Annie R. Riggins and Rosie Riggins Lewis.
