Funeral Services for James Milton Johnston, 87 of Kress, Texas have been entrusted to Bartley Funeral Home and will be held in Bartley Memorial Chapel Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM with burial to follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

James M. Johnston was born October 15, 1933, to Elbert and Vera Johnston in Memphis, Texas. Throughout life, James took after his father being a farmer, and an amazing father to his two boys Allen, and Jimmy Johnston as well as his daughter Christine Johnston. James was a loving father to his children and a Friend to many. He never met a stranger and was a man of God. Later down the road, James met his Lifelong Companion Gladys Goss.

Those left to Cherish Memories are his two sons Allen and wife Mickey of Lubbock, and Jimmy and wife Kathy of Brownfield. His daughter Christine Johnston of Georgetown, Texas. Two grandkids Christopher and Wendy, and four Great Grandchildren.

Those who proceeded him in death are his parents, two brothers, wife Sara Jane Johnston, and son David Johnston.
