Services for James G. Cruce, Sr., 87, of Plainview, will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Bartley Funeral Home Chapel in Plainview. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 11:30 to 12:45 prior to the service. James was a farmer, auctioneer, cattleman, and real estate broker. He loved music and led singing for many years at Kress Church of Christ and served on the Lubbock Christian University Board of Trustees. James served his country in the Navy from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his wife Helen in 1984, infant daughter, Dani Rose in 1957, his parents, L.R. and Lee Etta Cruce; brothers, M.T. and Roy Lee "Bo", sisters, Odessa Scribner, Wanda Standefer, Wilma Noblett and Doris Gae Harper.  He is survived by his daughter; Keila Cruce of Lubbock, son; James G. Cruce. Jr., of Austin, and numerous nieces and nephews. His rich voice and friendly ways will be missed by many family and friends.
