Funeral services for Jackie Clyde Whitaker, 65 of Plainview will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23 at Bartley Memorial Chapel with Gregg Moreland and Michael Wetzel officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Jackie died Monday, June 20, 2016 in Plainview. He was born November 22, 1950 in Plainview, Texas to James R. Whitaker and Lahoma (Philips) Whitaker. He was maintenance supervisor at Cargill for many years. He served with the United States Marine Corps where he was selected with honors. Jackie was a very generous man. He is survived by his mother, Lahoma Whitaker of Plainview; 1 brother, Rick Whitaker of Lubbock; 2 sisters, Myrna Moreland and husband Gerald of Lubbock and Mary Wetzel of Plainview and several nieces and nephews who loved him very much. He is preceded in death by his father. Pallbearers will be Gregg Moreland, Michael Wetzel, Timmy Wetzel, Matthew Whitaker, Adam Whitaker and Bobby Garces.
