Isaias Martinez Diaz, 80 years old, passed away on October 16, 2024, surrounded by his family.  A visitation will be held at Bartley Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.  A Church Service will be held at The Potter's House on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, 1:00 PM with Pastor Lorenzo Martinez officiating and burial to follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview.  Arrangements are under the direction and care of Bartley Funeral Home, Plainview, TX.

Isaias Martinez Diaz was born on February 15, 1944, to Hermenegildo Martinez Cruz and Josefina Tavares Diaz in Gavilan de Arriba, Jalisco, Mexico.

Isaias was a dedicated farmer and rancher who loved the farming and ranching life. He cherished watching the sunrise and sunset on the farm. He adored his wife, Rosa, and enjoyed spending time with his family, including his kids and grandkids. He took pleasure in watching his son barbecue so they could all eat together and loved being a grandpa. Isaias also enjoyed watching baseball and going to see the Rangers live with his son. He truly savored every moment of life.

Isaias is preceded in death by his parents, Hermengidlo Martinez Cruz and Josefina Tavares Diaz, one grandson, Davian Martinez and one sister, Rosa Medina.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rosa Martinez. His children, Hermenegildo Martinez Aguilera and Lidia Martinez both of Puerto Penasco, Mexico, Isaias Martinez Jr., of New Braunfels, TX, Catalina "Cathy" Martinez of New Braunfels, TX, Omar Martinez of Plainview, TX, Johnny Martinez of Plainview, TX, Albert and Melissa Martinez of Carrollton, TX, Victor and Blanca Medina of Plainview, TX, Robert and Rosanna Rodriquez of Hoffman Estates, IL, Raul Rodriquez of Lubbock, TX, Rosa Hernandez of San Antonio, TX and Yesenia Pardo of Plainview, TX. Six sisters, Lupe Silva of Dimmitt, TX, Tonia Martinez of Gavilan de Arriba, Jalisco, Mexico, Eva Sanchez of Dimmitt, TX, Josefina Arellano of Irving, CA, Silva Martinez of Santa Anna, CA, Carolina Martinez of Midland, TX. Three brothers, David Martinez of Gavilan de Arriba, Jalisco Mexico, Antonio Martinez of Edroy, TX, and Manuel (Chacal) Martinez of Dimmitt, TX. 35 grand-children and 34 great- grandchildren.
