Obituary

Funeral services for Helen Dorothy Francis, 87, of Lubbock, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday April 8, at Broadway Funeral Directors Chapel in Lubbock, Texas, with Richie Francis officiating. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Broadway Funeral Directors. Mrs. Francis passed away April 3, 2014, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on Sept. 7, 1926 in Uvalde, Texas, to Charles an Evelyn Cox. She married Martin Guynn Francis May 11, 1945, in Hondo, Texas. Helen worked for Southwestern Bell in the sixties and also Texas Tech University. She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church Survivors include three sons, Richard Francis and wife, Reba of Spotsville, KY., Bobby Francis and wife, Gina of Duncanville, Texas, and Gary Francis and wife, Kathy of Levelland, Texas; two daughters, Beth Willis and husband, Howard of Lubbock, Texas, and Barbara Gray and husband, Mac of Lubbock, Texas; one brother, Jack Cox and wife, Billie of Kosse,Texas; two sisters, Louise Buchanan and husband, Buck of Uvalde, Texas, and Carolyn Genereux of Bellville, Texas. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Francis was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Charles; and a brother, Charles Cox.
