Hazel Mae
Bond
September 21, 1933 – May 8, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hazel Bond (92) on May 8, 2026, in Lubbock, TX. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Plainview Memorial Park in Plainview, TX. Funeral Arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview, TX.
Hazel was born on September 21, 1933, in Clovis, NM, to Glenn Bond and Lue Cinderella Jones Bond.
Hazel kept her faith as she was a member of Southside Assembly. She was truly kind and remarkably considerate, touching the lives of everyone around her. She owned Earl’s Beauty Shop in Plainview and worked as a beautician for many years. Her adventurous spirit shone through on cruises to breathtaking destinations like Alaska and the Caribbean, where she was the oldest person at the time to zipline in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Even after moving to Lubbock, Hazel’s heart remained in Plainview, where she built a legacy during the 55 years she spent in the home that her brother Kenneth built.
Hazle is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn Bond and Lue Cinderella Jones Bond; her sister, Winnie McCartie; her grandparents, Walter and Tishie Jones, Thomas Kelly, and Sarah Alice “Allie” Bond.
Those left to cherish her memories are her brother, Kenneth Bond; her nieces and nephews, Gary, Paulette, Kenit, and Kellie.
