Gregorio Nathaniel "Nate" Mendieta IV, age 30, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel, Plainview, TX. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Bartley Memorial Chapel, Plainview, TX with Terry Wright officiating. Arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home.
Gregorio Nathaniel "Nate" Mendieta IV was born on January 1, 1994, in Lubbock, Texas, to Gregorio Mendieta III and Antonia Lucero. Gregorio will be remembered for his sense of humor, his willingness to help others, his generosity, and his love for his boots. Nate was a hard worker who enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family, especially cooking out. One of his last outdoor memories was dancing with his dad. He was a family man who kept in close contact with his brothers and parents. Nate was skilled at fixing things and always had a knack for working with his hands. He had a great love for norteña music.
Nate is preceded in death by his grandparents, Gregorio Mindieta, Jr and Martina Mindieta, and his uncles, Ricky Mindieta and Mario Mindieta.
Those left to cherish Gregorio's memory are his wife, Jessica Cavazos, his children, Elaynna Cavazos, Emmery Mendieta and Eann Nathaniel Mendieta all of Levelland, TX, his father and step-mother, Gregorio & Elizabeth Mendieta, III of San Antonio, his mother and step-father, Antonia & Edward Gonzales of Lubbock, TX, his uncle and aunt, Isreal and Lisa Garcia, his sister, Alexis Mendieta of Lubbock, TX, his brothers, Houston Mendieta of Lubbock, TX, Matthew Mendieta & Amalia Sanchez of Odessa, TX, Andrew Mendieta of San Antonio, TX, his grandparents, Nellie & Raymond Trevino of Hale Center, TX, and Max & Diane Lucero of Tucson, AZ, his grandmother, Mary Caudillo of Ropesville, TX, his nieces and nephews, Harlow Mendieta, Kinsley Mendieta, Lilliana Mendieta, Azaleigh Acosta, Reyven Cavazos, Averlie Cavazos, Jullian Cavazos and Ezra Cavazos. His extended family Rachel and Junior Mariscal of Ropesville, TX, Ray Cavazos & Sharon Parks of Meadow, TX, Rey Cavazos of Lubbock, TX, Jonathan & Alex Cavazos of Germany, and Chris Cavazos of Ropesville, TX. And numerous cousins.
