Fred Carroll Goldston, 82, of Lubbock, Texas passed away Sunday December 23, 2018. Memorial services will be held 11 AM, Thursday December 27 at Bartley Funeral Home in Plainview, Texas.
Fred was born in Clarendon, Texas to Laverne Goldston and Lucy McMahan. He graduated salutatorian from Alanreed High School in 1954. In 1960, he moved to Lubbock where he met Yvonne Sperry. They married April 6, 1962. He served with distinction in the US Army, stationed at Ft. Sill during the Korean conflict. He was excelled as a rifleman and sharpshooter. Fred was an entrepreneur, owning several businesses. He was active in the Freemasons and an avid outdoorsman. He was happiest with his family and fishing at his lake house in Breckinridge, TX. He was known for his humor, intelligence, compassion and skill at playing dominoes.
He was preceded in death by his parents Laverne and Lucy, and his brothers Jerry, Richard T. and John Homer.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne, his brother Jim, his sister Sharon Wilson, his children; Linda Richmond and husband, David, Judy Palmer and husband, Michael, David Goldston and wife, Jennifer, his grandchildren; Ryan Goldston, Natalie Tyrel, Bradley Richmond, Christian Palmer and wife, Stephanie, Merxy Richmond, Colton Palmer and wife, Victoria, Jeffrey Goldston, Catherine Goldston, as well as his great grandchildren, Peyton and Myla Palmer.
