Funeral services for Frances Annell Davis, 89 of Silverton will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at Silverton United Methodist Church with Rev. Rance Young officiating. Interment will follow in Silverton Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
She died on Monday, May 27, 2013 in Silverton. She was born on January 19, 1924 in Paducah, Texas to Reuben and Grace Tye. She married James Forest Davis on July 11, 1945 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
She was a member of Silverton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Century of Progress Study Club and Order of the Eastern Star and served as TFWC Caprock District President. She taught English at Silverton Independent School District until 1973.
Survivors include one son, Jim Davis and wife Connie of Silverton; two daughters, Dianne Bridges and husband Tom of Levelland and Barbara Farnan of the Bahamas; two brothers, Reuben Tye and wife Beverly of Arlington, TX and Ernest Tye of Houston, TX; one sister, Mary Sherman of Abilene, TX; five grandchildren, Jesse Henderson and Jeremiah Henderson both of Silverton, Krischel Hamm of Lubbock, Sharrel Bridges of Lubbock, and Cody Bridges of Sundown; six great-grandchildren, Krislyn Perkins, Kolby McAvoy and Kamryn Hamm of Lubbock, Brittany Bridges of Lubbock and Trevor Bridges and Addison Bridges of Sundown; one great-great-grandchild, Kyler James Winnet of Lubbock.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Davis and a granddaughter, Karena Perkins.
