Evelyn Merced-Rojas, 25, of Kemp, Texas passed away on April 12, 2024.

A Rosary will be held Thursday, April 18, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel.  Mass will take place on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, Plainview, Texas. Graveside services will follow immediately after the Mass Service at Plainview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Bartley Memorial Funeral Home.

Evelyn Merced-Rojas, 25, of Kemp, Texas passed away on April 12, 2024. She was born to Jose Felix Merced and Linda Ann Rojas on March 8, 1999, in Plainview, Texas.   She graduated from Plainview High School. She then went to UTI in Dallas, Texas, where she received her associate degree. During her working years, she was a nurse, diesel mechanic, and a substitute teacher.

Evelyn loved to travel, her last trip she took her kids Dominic and Lorelei to Houston to see the ocean. Her favorite place to travel was to Puerto Rico. She enjoyed swimming and Reggaeton music. Bad Bunny was one of her favorite bands. She was a girly girl and enjoyed taking selfies, doing her make-up, eyelashes, and getting her nails done. She loved spending time with her family and kids, including her boyfriend, Lorenzo Perez.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Dominic Adams Ortiz of Plainview, TX, Lorelei Perez-Merced of Kemp, TX. Her boyfriend, Lorenzo Perez of Kemp, TX.  Her father, Jose Felix Merced of Plainview, TX. Her mother, Linda Ann Hernandez of Plainview, TX.  Her sisters, America (Greg) Gonzales, Liberty Hill, TX, Canada Hernandez of Plainview, TX, Asia Hernandez of Plainview, TX, Russia Hernandez of Lubbock TX, Brenda Lee Merced of Hereford, TX, Evelyn  Merced (Carlos Figerea of Puerto Rico.  Her brother, Pete (Maricella) Rojas of Plainview, TX Heber (Ana) Merced of Herford, TX and her grandmother, Elodia Rojas of Plainview, TX.  18 Nieces 12 Nephews and numerous cousins and other family members.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Lee Merced, grandparents, Emilia Munoz, Raymundo Merced.
