Elodia Perez Lafuente passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. A Visitation will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM with the Rosary starting at 7:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel. Mass will be held Monday, December 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Plainview, TX, with Father George Poonley officiating. Interment will follow to Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview.

Elodia Perez Lafuente was born on February 17, 1962, to Tomas Perez Jr. and Maria Mendez in Brownfield TX. Elodia spent 24 years with her husband Edward Lafuente.

Elodia deeply cherished her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a passion for dancing and enjoyed giving to others. Elodia was known for her delicious, hot, and spicy Mexican food. She was straightforward and blunt, facing life's challenges with strength and determination. Elodia was the glue that held her family together; she was always faithful and loyal, willing to share whatever she had with anyone in need. She truly excelled in her roles as a grandmother, mother, wife, and sister. Additionally, she was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview. She will be forever remembered and forever loved.

Elodia is preceded by her parents, Tomas Perez, Jr. and Maria Perez; her two sisters, Yolanda Botello, and Mary Carey; her brother, Julio Perez; two nephews, Juan Botello, Jr. and Julio Perez; and her father-in-law, John Lafuente.

Those left to cherish Elodia's memory are her husband, Edward Lafuente of Plainview, TX; her children, Felipe Saucedo Jr. with spouse Mary of Plainview, TX,  Crystal Saucedo with spouse Juan Carlos of Plainview, TX,  Michael Saucedo with spouse Crystal of Plainview, TX, Edward Lafuente Jr. with spouse Christina of Sweetwater, TX, Carlos Lafuente with spouse Hope of Plainview, TX, Stephanie with spouse Frank Juanes of Plainview, TX, Fabian Lafuente of San Antonio and Jeremy Lafuente of San Antonio, TX; her sisters, Gloria Perez of Odessa, TX, Irma Sowell with spouse Shane of Temple, TX; her brothers, Raymond with spouse Anita Perez of Plainview, TX, Carlos with spouse Stella Perez of Plainview, TX, Thomas Jr. with spouse Michelle Perez of Plainview, TX, Raul Gaucin of Plainview, TX; her grandchildren, Jolene and spouse David Gatewood, Jaylynn with spouse Jacob Lopez, Jordan Saucedo, Joan Saucedo, Brandon Saucedo, Alyssa Saucedo, Coby Saucedo, Trinity Saucedo, Felicity Fuentes, Ranson Fuentes, and Harley De La Rosa; 22 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
