Funeral services for Earven N. Polite, 86 of Plainview will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at United Baptist Church with Rev. M.L. White officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Polite died Friday, August 22, 2014 in Plainview. He was born September 10, 1927 in Ashdown. Arkansas to Hannie Willis and Arnega Nelson Polite. He served in the U.S. Army in 1946. He worked for Affiliated Foods until his retirement. He was a member of United Baptist Church where he played the guitar. He is survived by his wife, Willie Faye Polite of Plainview; 5 sons, Roy Polite of Amarillo, Edward Polite of Lubbock, Chris Polite of Amarillo, Anthony Polite of Lamesa and Earven Polite, Jr. of Oklahoma City; 7 daughters, Bertha Owens and husband Allison of Clarksville, TX, Thelma Polite, Doris Jackson, Beverly Polite, Judy Polite and Virginia Hamilton all of Amarillo and Evette Polite of Gutherie, Oklahoma; 37 Grandchildren, 62 Great Grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren.
