Earnest "Pete" Sprous Jr., 82, passed away on February 1, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be held Sunday, Febuary 4, 2024, from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel, Plainview, Texas. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Bartley Funeral Home, Plainview, Texas. Graveside services are under the direction of Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, Springfield, Illinois.

Earnest was preceded in death by his wife; Nancy Marie Sprous, his daughter; Sylvia Susan Sprous, his parents; Ernest Sr. and Jessie Sprous, his sister; Betty Sprous, his brothers; James Kenneth "Jimmy" Luster, and Paul William Sprous, Sr.

Earnest is survived by his sons; Mickey and wife Vernah Sprous of Lubbock, Texas, Ken and wife Marsha Sprous of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, his daughters; Lisa Sprous of Hillsboro, Missouri, and Shonna Sprous of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, his sisters; Helen Payne of Washington, Missouri, and Rhonda Luster of St. Louis, Missouri.
