Memorial services for Durvis Taylor, 71 of Plainview will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Bartley Memorial Chapel. A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015 in Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Oscar Chavez, Chaplain of Area Community Hospice, officiating. Mr. Taylor passed away Friday, July 31 in Plainview. He was born November 25, 1943 in Sneedville, Texas to Marion and Sally (Grisham) Taylor. He married Synthia Carter on July 10, 1965 in Paducah, Texas. He worked for the Coca Cola Company for over 22 years, Central Plains MHMR and Captrans. His hobbies were fishing, camping and target shooting. He was a comedian with a good sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Synthia Taylor of Plainview; 3 daughters, Melody Gilbreath and husband Terry and Mitzi Clark both of Plainview and Cherrie LaCross and husband Jason of Spring, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Calob Holt, Cullen Holt, Aaron Shackelford, Moriah Gilbreath, Manessah Gilbreath, Zeah Clark and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both parents and 6 brothers, Troy, Jasper, Mickey, Frank, Delwin and Tommy Taylor.
