For those of us lucky enough to know Doyle Stouder, we woke up this morning without a true and forever friend. However, he was truly a distinct pleasure to know and to love. He was a man of his word, which in this world is getting more and more rare.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 23, at College Heights Baptist Church, with arrangements by Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview.
Doyle was born to Roy Stouder and Edna Coleman Stouder in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was raised with 10 siblings.
After graduation, he had a passion for truck driving that lasted 55 dedicated years, the last 26 years of which were spent with an elite family known as Wal-Mart drivers.
Doyle possessed an incredible knowledge and passion for old cars and a vision to see it through to the ultimate finish. The look on his face when he won numerous awards at various car shows made all seem right with the world. All of his friends were deeply and truly happy for him!
He met and married Joyce Yarbrough on April 26, 1965. They would have celebrated 50 years together next month. Not only did Doyle gain a son, David Kinslow when he married Joyce he was blessed with a best friend and mentor in his father-in-law Orvil Yarbrough. In addition to Doyle gaining a son Joyce gained two daughters, Tonya VanScoyc and Denise Hill. Together Doyle and Joyce welcomed Jolie Stouder-Steele. They lovingly referred to their blended family as "his, hers and theirs." This blended family blessed them with 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Godspeed Doyle. We will love and treasure our memories of you forever
