Funeral services for Dorothy Jean Coleman will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Floydada, Texas at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, March 18, 2022, at Bartley Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.

Dorothy Jean Coleman was born on August 24, 1955, in Floydada, Texas to George and Doris (Reese) Ledbetter. She was raised on a farm during her younger years. Dorothy married Kenneth Coleman on July 15, 1974, in Floydada. Her hobbies and jobs insisted of housekeeping, painting, and dietary aide. Dorothy loved church and was a long-time member of Grants Chapel where she was the treasurer. She enjoyed playing cards. Dorothy loved and cherished her family.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband; Kenneth Coleman of Floydada, two daughters; Shelly Wickware (Michael Wickware) of Plainview and Sandra Coleman of Hale Center, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, her sisters; Jerlean Ledbetter, Loretta Bolton, Venita Glenn (Earl Glenn), and Yolanda Ramon.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother and father; Doris L. Ledbetter and George Ledbetter Jr., two granddaughters; Kassandra Wickware and Sabrena Austin.
