It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donnie Jay Gallaway, 83, on June 1, 2025, in Plainview, TX. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Bartley Memorial Chapel.  Arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home and Prairie View Crematory of Plainview.

Donnie was born in Floydada, TX, on August 15, 1941, to Henry Tinnon Galloway and Mary Magdalene Galloway (McCracken). He married Martha Kay Warren on April 23, 1964, in Floydada, TX.

Donnie was a patriotic man whose unwavering love for his country was evident in his proud service as a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. His commitment to his community was equally inspiring; he actively participated in the Lions Club and devoted his time to the Volunteer Fire Department in Floydada. Over the years, he excelled in his career as a grocery store manager and contributed to the success of Pioneer Seed.

A devoted husband, Donnie shared an incredible 61 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Martha. Together, they were pillars of their community, actively engaged in Colonial Baptist Church. Donnie's greatest joy came from serving others and nurturing his cherished family. His passion for the Dallas Cowboys was evident, and he eagerly followed NASCAR races, sharing that excitement with those around him.

An avid outdoorsman, Donnie loved exploring the beauty of Colorado and forging lasting memories while camping and backpacking with his two boys in Boy Scouts troop 357. His dedication to his home was evident in his meticulously maintained yard, which was renowned in Plainview for its beauty. With his impressive green thumb, Donnie was able to grow stunning tomatoes when no one else could succeed. During the festive Christmas season, he brought joy and laughter to his family while he dressed as Santa Claus. Donnie's legacy of service, joy, and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Maggie Galloway; his brothers, Jerry Galloway and Connie Galloway.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Martha Kay Gallaway; his sons, Jeff (Melissa) Gallaway of Weatherford, TX, Brian (Twyla) Gallaway of Plainview, TX; four grandchildren, Jordan (Thomas), Paxton, Brianna (Jaime), and Mason (Hunter);and six great- grandchildren.
