Dickie "Dick" Allen Barton

Dick Barton, 82, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 7 th , 2023, at 11 am at Grace Methodist Church in Plainview. A private family burial will be held at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Dick was born on April 6, 1940, in Amarillo Texas to Elmer and Myrtle Barton. He grew up in Lockney, Texas and graduated from Lockney High School. He married Donna Workman on July 22, 1961 in Lockney. Dick and Donna moved to Plainview in 1967 where they raised their two sons and lived throughout their lives.
Dick worked throughout his career in the automotive and insurance industries. He owned and operated an Allstate Insurance agency in Plainview, where he retired in 2005. Dick was an active member of Grace Methodist Church. He loved restoring Volkswagen Bugs, being a Papa to his grandchildren, helping others, and was a friend to many.

He is survived by his sons, Blake Barton and wife Kim of Tucson Arizona and Brent Barton and wife Donna of Hale Center Texas; his grandchildren Katie Beth Barton, Hunter Barton, Kaitlen Lemons, and Bryce Barton, and one great grandchild, Kody Lemons.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Barton; parents; two brothers Travis and Alvie Barton; and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Barton.
