David Jenkins, 62, went home to be with his heavenly Father on October 7, 2025. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 5:30 PM at Revive Church, 1801 Houston St., Plainview, TX, with Pastor Miguel Mendoza officiating.

David was born on January 15, 1963, to Clarence B. and Lovellia Jenkins in Borger, Hutchinson County, Texas.

David "Grandpa" was known for his sense of humor and his friendly, outgoing nature. He always had wise advice to share with anyone who asked. Above all, he loved the Lord. He cherished spending time with family and friends, especially at BBQs. David was an enthusiastic fan of fishing and football, with the Dallas Cowboys as his favorite NFL team. He enjoyed watching Westerns, action, and comedy movies. A true music lover, he especially appreciated country music. At one time, he enjoyed delivering pizza for 806 Pizza. His favorite restaurant was Bryan's Steakhouse in Lubbock.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 10 years, Loretta Gibson; his stepchildren, Brittaney Sheffield and Brandon Gibson; and three step-grandchildren. All of his family and friends will cherish his memory.

Gone too soon but forever in our hearts.
