The Red Raider nation in the kingdom of Heaven just added another golfer to the field as the tee time for Danny E. Owen of Plainview, TX was called earlier this week on August 8th.  A Celebration of Life service, not a funeral, will be held at the Prairie View Venue located behind Bartley Funeral Home at 1200 South I-27 in Plainview, TX on Wednesday August 16, 2017 in Plainview.

Danny was born, like his brother and sister before him, in a one room house with a dirt floor on Galveston street March 18, 1934 to his parents Joseph Condie Owen and Anna Reese Brooks Owen.  Times were tough then but they never lacked because their faith and the provisions of God led the family to greater success.  Danny's parents, older brother Joseph (Jake) Owen and his sister JoAnn Chiddix Owen preceded him in death.

For the time being the foursome will be one player short as Danny's children Kay Machelle Harmon and her husband Ronnie, Stacy Lynn Johnston and her husband Keith along with Miles P. Owen and his wife Esther will just have to play a few rounds without him. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Danny was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Plainview.  He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University.  Danny was active with leadership roles in the Masonic Lodge, the Plainview Chamber of Commerce, the Texas Board of Realtors, the Downtown Coffee Club, the Plainview High School Booster club and many other civic organizations.

He lived his life with the heart of a servant and he will be forever cherished.  Hit em' straight Danny.
