Charles Frank Patterson, born on April 25, 1953, passed away on August 16, 2024, at the age of 71. Known for his kind heart and strong work ethic, Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Charles was married to Debra Patterson for 53 years. Together, they raised three children: Stacy Patterson, Michelle Swim and her husband Ronald, and KaCee Carr and her husband Steven. He was a caring grandfather to ten grandchildren: Colt Patterson, Dalton Patterson and his wife Katy, Chris Swim, Jacob Swim, Thomas Swim, Jay Carr, John Carr, Cali Carr, Cora Carr, and Bensen Carr, as well as two great-grandchildren, Mia and Carter.

Charles enjoyed spending time outdoors. He found joy in activities like camping, maintaining his yard, washing his truck, and working around the farm. For over 25 years, Charles worked for Hale County, operating heavy equipment.
A man of faith, Charles served as an elder at First Christian Church. He is now free from pain, resting in Heaven.
Charles was known by many names—Charles, Charlie, Dad, Daddy, Pawpaw, Poppa, and Pop—but no matter the name, he was always ready to help those in need, especially his family. He was deeply respected and cherished by Estebon Roque, who looked up to him as a father figure and was treated like a son. Charles also valued his friendship with their longtime neighbor, Mr. Sandlin, with whom he shared many years of mutual support and care.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Bea Patterson, and his in-laws, Felton and Opal Potter, as well as Gary and Jan Waldie. Charles will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
