Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eddie Foster, 72, on July 9, 2025, in Plainview, TX. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel in Plainview, TX. Arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home and Prairie View Crematory of Plainview.

Eddie was born on October 19, 1953, in Plainview, TX, to W Carroll and Margaret Winters Foster.

Eddie was a stubborn and ornery man, but he was also quite handsome. He loved his grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them. He was a member of the Plainview Rodeo Association and enjoyed fishing whenever he had the time. For most of his life, he devoted himself to the road as a truck driver, which sustained him and his family and was his livelihood. Eddie had a remarkable passion for collecting swords and knives, and he wore his patriotism proudly, embracing the values symbolized by the red, white, and blue.

At the adventurous age of 70, he boldly decided to get both of his ears pierced and loved experimenting with different styles of earrings. He was known for giving the best hugs and had a deep love for his family. One touching moment involved his granddaughter, who, out of concern, mistakenly thought he was battling cancer due to his bald head. At just 25, Eddie took on the monumental challenge of single fatherhood, raising his three-year-old daughter with devotion and strength for a decade. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, W Carroll and Margaret Foster; and his brother, Craig Allen Foster.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Lacey Foster, Jenifer Deleon  (Jeremiah), Josh Foster, Kimma Braden (Robert), Ky Bigham (Clay); his sisters, Sue Curtis, Connie Moody, and Kay Stanton (Jim); his grandchildren, Kilah, Morgan, Faith, Harley, Kylar, Brenn Leigh, Bryston, Kashton, Kaislyn, Wylder, Knox, and Deacon; and his great-grandchild, Yumi.
