It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Celia Chavez, 82, on February 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A Rosary will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Bartley Memorial Chapel, Plainview, Texas. A Funeral Service will be held on the same day at 2:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Phil McGechie, Officiating.

Celia Chavez was born in Mexico on April 30, 1942, to Jesus and Pascuala Dominguez.

Celia will be remembered as always being a loving mother and grandmother to her family.  Her passion for cooking brought everyone together, creating cherished memories filled with laughter. She had a special connection with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always there to listen and offer wise advice. She was a collector of trinkets and was well-known for the magnets displayed on her fridge. Celia adored her animals and loved dressing up. Celia enjoyed dancing and singing, always being the first to join in and the last to leave the dance floor.  As a devout Catholic, she found joy in praising Jesus. She loved listening to music with Antonio Aguilar and Vicente Fernandez being a few of her favorites.

Celia is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Pascuala Dominguez; her husband, Ubaldo Chavez; and her son, Sergio Langruen.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Marina Sikes, Elena Langruen, Oscar Langruen and Aglaed Chavez; her grandchildren, Magali Chavez, Antonio Cuellar, Marina Cuellar, Osmara Cuellar, Angel Cardiel, Adriana Cardiel, Eduardo Langruen, Mariela Sanchez, and Gerardo Sanchez; Plus numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
