In loving memory of Carlos Martinez, born in Uvalde, TX, on November 26, 1952, to T.D. and Catalina Fernandez Martinez. He departed this world on January 15, 2024.
Carlos was the eldest of five children – Mario, Johnny, Roy, and Mary. He shared a lifetime of love with his wife, Alicia, whom he married on December 25, 1974. Their union was blessed with three beautiful children who filled his heart with pride and joy.
A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Carlos's infectious spirit extended beyond sports. Known for his fast wit and a treasury of jokes, he had a remarkable ability to keep everyone smiling. His love for playing dominoes and Yahtzee was surpassed only by his strategic skill in Scrabble, a game where, some might say, he had a knack for giving himself a few extra points to secure victory.
Above all, Carlos cherished his family. His adoration for them was evident in every smile, every joke, and every game played. As we bid farewell, let us remember Carlos as a source of joy, laughter, and unwavering love, leaving behind a legacy that will forever live in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love he so freely gave.
Carlos has been reunited with his parents, T.D. and Catalina Martinez; daughter, Carina Mendez; and brothers, Johnny, Mario, and Roy Martinez, in God's Eternal Kingdom.
He will be deeply and lovingly missed by his wife of 49 years, Alicia Martinez; son, Sergio Martinez; daughter, Melissa Lujan and husband, Oliverio; sister, Mary Garcia and husband Chris, grandchildren, Abigail and husband, Dylan Ramirez, Audrey Samaniego, Cedrick Samaniego, Cesar Samaniego, Christian Samaniego, Larissa Luján, Kira Luján, Mia Luján, and Ava Luján; great-grandchildren, Avyan Ramirez, Ayden Ramirez, and Jael Samaniego; and a host of extended family and friends.
