Bobby Lynn Ray, aged 79, of Plainview, TX, passed away on May 7, 2025, in Plainview, TX. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel, with services and arrangements under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview.
Bobby was born on July 15, 1945, in Groesbeck, TX, to Garland Ray Sr and Nora Davis Ray, Bobby was a unique individual known for his love of dancing, sports, and westerns on the GRIT TV channel. He was proud of attending and a graduate of Booker T. Washington School, class of 1964. He worked for McGavock Motors. He loved cars and knew a lot about cars. And a landscaper for the Coffey family, where they made him feel like family.
Bobby was a man who embraced life with a sense of humor and a strong personality, often saying, "And the blind man said Toodle-loo." He knew who he was and didn't mind talking trash and lying. He enjoyed walking, especially with his companion Shaneara, after he could no longer drive.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Garland Sr and Nora Ray, along with 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shaneara Lynn Hill; his stepchildren, T'Keyah Roberts of Plainview, TX, and KioVantae Hill of Amarillo, TX; and his step-grandchild, Harmoney Jackson of Plainview. He also leaves behind numerous friends, nieces, and nephews.
