Betty Elsie Williams, of Lubbock, closed her eyes on earth and opened them in heaven on August 5, 2020. A private family burial is scheduled for August 10, 2020 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Lubbock with Reverend Carlos Hinojos of Redbud Baptist Church officiating.
Betty was born on November 14, 1930 to Claude and Ellen (Eldridge) Thayer in Corry Pennsylvania. She grew up in South Dayton, New York where she met James Williams Sr. They were married on August 10, 1949 and had two daughters.
Betty ran the post office for L&H pharmacy and then ran the post office for Texas Tech up until retirement. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in O'donnell, Tx, Memorial Baptist Church and Redbud Baptist Church. She was a devoted woman of faith who left her legacy. She loved studying her bible but above all she loved her family.
Those left to cherish her memory is her daughters; Ersa Egnew and husband, Richard, of Plainview, Sandra Williams of Lubbock, twelve grandchildren and many great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; James Williams Sr., a son; James Williams Jr., brother; Orris Thayer, and a sister; Ersa Thayer
