It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Sue McGavock, 78, on February 13, 2025, in Plainview, TX. Cremation arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home and Prairie View Crematory of Plainview.

Betty McGavock was born in Tulia, TX, on December 31, 1946, to Jarvis Franklin Nall and Opal Loree Stevens.

Betty was a loving woman who was always happy and smiling. She worked as a cashier and florist at the original United Supermarkets on 24th Street in Plainview for 40 years. Betty was always willing to help anyone in need. She was a member of the Golden Girls at the nursing home and found joy in spending time with her beloved puppies, Pickles and Paisley, feeling her happiest when they were by her side.

Betty loved to visit her niece Sherry and her daughter Kendra in Colorado Springs, cherishing her niece as if she were her own daughter. She also had close friendships with Rhonda Scott and Cecilia "Ceil" Wilson, whom she treasured dearly.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Jarvis and Loree Nall; her son, Michael McGavock; her sister, Beverly Henderson; and her brothers, Luther Nall, Donnie Nall, and Lonnie Mitchell.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Kevin Strunk of Plainview, TX; her brother, David Nall and wife Janis of Denton, TX; her daughter–in–law, Stacey McGavock of Moriarty, NM; her niece, Sherry Leckenby; her great-niece, Kendra Lenkenby of Colorado Springs, CO; her grandchildren, Stephen Kuykendall of Hinesville, GA, Ashleigh McGavock of Washington State, WA, and Aaryn McGavock of Moriarty, NM; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
