Obituary

Amy Michelle Bruce passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024. As a cherished mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, she is leaving behind a legacy of love that will forever echo in our hearts.

Amy was born in Plainview, Texas on November 17, 1973, to Glenda Summers and David Bruce. Amy was the first born and became a big sister, best friend, and keeper to her younger brothers, Nate and Jim, and sister, Jessica. Amy spent her early adult years in San Jose, California where she met and created a life and beautiful family with Danny Luna. Amy loved spending time with her girls, Ashley Paige and Michelle Faye, walking barefoot at the beach, rain or shine. There was no form of art she didn't excel in. Her eye for detail was phenomenal whether it be creating wind chimes out of sea glass or helping her girls with a school project. Amy moved back to Plainview, Texas with her family and joined her mom, Glenda and Aunt Judy happily serving her community at The Kettle Restaurant. Later in life, Amy welcomed her youngest daughter, Elizabeth Jade, completing her circle of love and family. Amy and Elizabeth enjoyed creating wonderful baked goods together. They would spend time drawing and coloring, playing board games, shopping, and playing with the family pets. Amy didn't let many touch her beautiful hair, but she and Elizabeth enjoyed doing each other's hair, makeup and nails just for fun.

Amy enjoyed concerts and loud music. You wouldn't catch her leaving her house without her long nails done and polished, her hair looking amazing, and a full face of make-up to highlight her beautiful green eyes. She brought smiles to everyone with her unpredictable wit and wild antics. She was bold and unapologetic when she had to be, especially when it came to protecting her own. She kept us all on our toes, reminding us to embrace life's spontaneity and to treasure every moment. Amy took great pride in her three daughters, cherishing their many accomplishments and joys. We can all admire Amy's faith in God and her love for her family. Though she may have departed from this earth, Amy's love remains eternally present within each of us.

Amy's journey reunites her with her dear mother, Glenda Faye Summers, affectionately known as Ginna to Amy, her father, David Marrion Bruce, as well as her grandparents, Rayford and Dorothy Britton, and Eugene and Ruby Bruce. May they find solace in each other's embrace in the eternal realm.

She is lived on through her children Jacob and Ashley Paige Luna-Martinez, Michelle Faye Luna, Elizabeth Jade Bruce and her first grandson, Forrest Peter Luna-Martinez; All her siblings who will carry her love forward, Nate and Angie Bruce, Jessica Bruce, Jimmy and Erica Bruce, and Matt Triplett; her nieces and nephews, Darien Cornett, Jaelyn Bruce, Alyssa and Travis Maxwell, Quinten Bruce; her great-nephew and great-niece, Cohlton Lee Maxwell and Bentley Bea Maxwell. Amy also leaves behind her dad, Roger Summers, her Aunt Judy Allen, and her Uncle Rodney Moss, along with a multitude of close cousins and dear friends, all whose lives she enriched with her vibrant spirit. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate her life—a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
