She was born on March 31, 1947, to Fortino Castillo and Bernabé Porras.

On December 25, 1974, she married the love of her life, Carlos Martinez. Their marriage was a testament to unwavering devotion and eternal love. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children—Sergio, Carina, and Melissa—in Hart, Texas, a community they were proud to call home for many years.

Alicia's strong faith was rooted in her upbringing in the LDS Church, a faith that never wavered and shone brightly throughout her life. She was the very picture of a loving wife, mother, and grandmother—quiet and reserved, yet with a quick wit and a warm sense of humor that could light up a room. She loved deeply, lived faithfully, and never missed an opportunity to share God's word.

She also expressed her love through her cooking, which was treasured by family and friends alike. Alicia was well known for her delicious red enchiladas, homemade empanadas, and her famous Mexican fruit cake—dishes made with the same care, warmth, and generosity that she poured into every part of her life.

One of Alicia's most beautiful qualities was her steadfast presence. She always showed up—whether for her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren—and her dedication and affection were constants in the lives of those she loved. She was a guiding light, offering strength, comfort, and love to all who knew her.

Alicia has been reunited in Heaven with her husband Carlos; daughter Carina; parents, Fortino Castillo and Bernabé Porras; sister,  Hortencia Castillo, parents-in-law, TD and Catalina Martinez; brothers-in-law, Mario, Roy Martinez and Luis Orona; and nephews, Marc Garcia and Walter Orona.

Her generosity and kindness will be forever missed by her children, Sergio Martinez and Melissa Martinez (husband Oliverio); sister, Romelia Castillo Orona; her grandchildren, Abigail Ramirez (husband Dylan), Audrey Samaniego, Cesar Samaniego, Christian Samaniego, Larissa Gonzalez (husband Said), Kira Lujan, Mia Lujan, and Ava Lujan; great-grandchildren, Avyan Ramirez, Ayden Ramirez, and Jael Samaniego; sister-in-law, Mary Garcia (husband Chris), Wynon Martinez and Pam Martinez; and many extended family members and friends whose lives she touched.

Her life was a living example of love in action, and her memory will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her.
