Alfredo "Blackie" Flores, 73, of Plainview, passed away on July 6, 2022. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Bartley Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Bartley Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Bartley Funeral Home.

Alfredo "Blackie" Flores was born on May 12, 1949, in Hale Center, Texas to Alfredo Flores Sr and Simona Jimenez. Black grew up in Hale Center and Plainview. He married Maria Gomez on April 19, 1968, in Plainview and they were married until May of 1984.  He farmed in different locations until 1984 when he became a well-known and loved mechanic in his community for many years.

Blackie was known as a very funny man who was always cracking a joke. He always saw the humor in everything and was a bit of a prankster. He always had a story to tell whether it was true or not. Giving, caring, and loving are only a few ways to describe him. He was an amazing father, grandfather (Blackie), brother, uncle, and friend.

Those left to cherish his memory is his children; David Flores of Amarillo, TX, Sandra Flores of Plainview, TX, and Cynthia Flores of Amarillo, TX, brothers; Paul Flores of Dimmitt, Juan Flores of Ralls, and Ramon Flores of Lubbock, sisters; Catarina Quintero of Waxahachie, Carolina Flores of Plainview, Rosalinda Vargas of Plainview, Beatrice Flores of Lubbock, Sylvia Guerrero of Hale Center and Teresa Gerhardt of Floydada. Blackie was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alfredo (Sr.) and Simona Flores, children; Jaime Flores and Alfredo Flores III, a brother; Joe Angel Flores, and his sisters; Margarita Flores and Anita Castillo.
